The Arabia Felix Short Film Competition is implemented by the GIZ in partnership with Youth of the World Together Organization (YWT Org) and Madiba; funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and co-funded by the European Union. It uses the power of moving images to promote peaceful coexistence in Yemen while celebrating its ability to unite Yemenis all over the country.

Through the Arabia Felix Short Film competition, filmmakers are invited to tell (daily-life) stories about ordinary Yemenis who tried and succeeded in drawing a different reality for themselves, their families, and their communities. Arabia Felix understands peaceful coexistence as a process and a transition towards nonviolent forms of living together and celebrating differences. Through the short films, stories and heroes of coexistence should be uncovered, cultures and structures of coexistence highlighted, and the path already undertaken towards peaceful coexistence made visible.

The main goal of the short films is to focus on what coexistence is, what violence is and why it occurs, and most importantly, what it means to deal with conflicts constructively and cooperatively to showcase the full creative potential of transformation. The film competition gives Yemeni filmmakers the chance to produce high-quality films that promote peaceful coexistence, gender equality, acceptance, tolerance, women’s rights, democracy, and human rights.

تنفَذ مسابقة العربية السعيدة للأفلام القصيرة من قبل الوكالة الألمانية للتعاون الدولي بالشراكة مع منظمة شباب العالم معًا وماديبا وبتمويل من الوزارة الاتحادية الألمانية وبدعم مشترك من الاتحاد الاوروبي. تستخدم المسابقة تأثير الصور والأفلام المتحركة لتعزيز التعايش السلمي في اليمن وتلفت الانتباه إلى قدرتها على توحيد اليمنيين في جميع أنحاء اليمن

مسابقة العربية السعيدة تدعو صناع الأفلام لرواية قصص عن الحياة اليومية للمواطن اليمني الذي حاول ونجح في رسم واقع مختلف لنفسه وأسرته ومجتمعه، وتنظر للتعايش السلمي على أنه تغيير يراد به خلق جو من التفاهم للعيش معاً بعيداً عن العنف وذلك عبر الاحتفاء بالاختلافات وتقدير التنوع. من خلال الأفلام القصيرة، يُطمح الكشف عن قصص وأبطال التعايش، وإبراز تنوع ثقافات واشكال التعايش، وإظهار المسار الذي يؤدي إلى التعايش السلمي.

 الهدف الرئيسي من الأفلام القصيرة هو التركيز على مفهوم التعايش، وما مفهوم العنف ولماذا يحدث؟ والأهم من ذلك، ماذا يعني التعامل مع النزاعات بشكل بناء لإخراج وإظهار الإمكانيات الإبداعية لفكرة التحول الجذري إلى الأفضل. تمنح المسابقة صناع الأفلام اليمنيين فرصة إنتاج أفلام عالية الجودة تعزز مبدأ التعايش السلمي والمساواة بين الجنسين والقبول والتسامح وحقوق المرأة والديمقراطية وحقوق الإنسان.
