Synopsis:

Jame’e founded himself in Yemen after traveling with fishing ships and could not return to his country since then! After so many years, he finds an opportunity to return. Will he choose to stay or go back to his homeland?

Director Bio

Saber Wasel is a filmmaker, photographer, and writer. He is a graduate of the Scottish Institute for Documentaries. Saber has participated in producing several documentaries; he started working in this industry in 2018. “Made of Gold” was his first documentary, produced under the mentorship of the Yemeni-Russian director, Mariam Al-Dhubhani. The film was nominated for the Best Yemeni Documentary award at Karama Yemen Human Rights Film Festival. Saber has recently directed his second documentary, “What Brings You Here,” after winning the Arabia Felix Short Film Competition Award.

المخرج

صابر واصل، صانع أفلام ومصور فوتوغرافي وكاتب. متدرب في المعهد الاسكتلندي للأفلام الوثائقية، عمل صابر على العديد من المشاريع الوثائقية المصّورة، بدأ العمل في المجال في 2018، صُنع من ذهب هو أول أفلامه الوثائقية تحت إشراف المخرجة اليمنية-الروسية مريم الذبحاني، ترشح الفيلم لأفضل فيلم وثائقي يمني في مهرجان كرامة اليمن لحقوق الإنسان. يعمل صابر الآن على فيلمه “ما الذي أتى بك إلى هنا” الثاني بعد فوزه بمسابقة العربية السعيدة للأفلام.
